Starting as a one-man sideline business, SDIkeda.com has evolved into a richly varied referral network for experienced, independent providers of affordable solutions for an ever-expanding range of new media tasks. It initially began with a simple concept: sooner or later, everyone "needs" a "Web plumber".
The concept was based on very expensive, personal experience of being the client who purchased big-ticket Web consulting services only to find the results to be underwhelming -- with often extraneous bells-and-whistles, unmanageable site tools, constant expensive upgrades -- or sometimes even catastrophic. On the other hand, experience showed that cash-strapped small businesses and non-profits too often rely on amateurs, interns, friends of friends who have taken a crash-course in HTML but had little experience maintaining a site in a competitive environment.
SDIkeda.com intended to provide rapid, down-and-dirty media services in "modules" that were specifically designed and priced to suit small businesses, non-profit and service organizations, and sole proprietors with experienced professional advice or hands-on implementation help as-needed, and only as needed.
Projects have ranged from simple site research and planning tasks for startups, to complete builds of small business sites, to limited outreach campaigns using a variety of communications methods including email, audio recordings, teleconferencing, news media campaigns, and more. Over time, contacts increasingly focused on evaluations, presentations, and some on-site workshops and talks, and today, Ikeda takes on very few hands-on site-building projects. However, listed here are details of select past projects, and any inquiries are welcome.
